glue any fingers!

2. Cut out green stems and leaves, and colored flowers (you'll have to do this ahead of time for the younger children).

3. Glue or tape your stems into the palm of the hand print and put flowers on top of each of them.

This year the boys have been interested in knowing the date and days of the week. So I decided to make a calendar for them. I made a table 6 down and 7 across (pick your Childs favorite color for the table) then laminate it so you can use it for 12 months. Then get Velcro buttons and stick them in each spot. Print out numbers 1-31 and laminate them as well. (I used packaging tape as a laminate for these) stick the matching Velcro button to the back of the numbers. Now give your child a piece of paper and ask them to draw a picture that has to do with that month and write the month at the top Tape the picture and chart on the wall. ** I also made holiday symbols to put in place of the numbers **

Hand print butterflies

This week was also the first day of spring. Every Year we make our spring butterfylies. I use white scrap booking paper ( Mason's hands are getting to big for regular paper) and bright craft paint(found at walmart). First I took a soup can and traced a circle for the head and then I made a V shape body. I Painted my boys hands in 6 different shades. After I made the hand print wings I took glitter glue and colored in the body and head. Then drew a mouth and eyes. IT"S SIMPLE and very colorful to hang in your kitchen for the spring :)

Easter Egg paper Plate Handprint Basket

something to color with
paper plate
paint and paintbrush (we used brown)

Cut out egg templates.
Color the pieces as appropriate and cut them out.

Cut out the top half of the paper plate, leaving the rim intact.
This will likely require a parent's assistance.

Paint the bottom of the paper plate brown, including the rim.

Glue eggs into the basket.

Trace handprints onto construction paper in whatever color you prefer.
Glue or tape the handprints along the rim of the basket as a handprint handle.

Hello, everyone, I have decided to follow in the footsteps of two creative women (Jody and Brooke) and start a blog about something I’m passionate about, teaching kids. I love doing all sorts of things with my boys and sometimes I wish I could share these fun things with others. Well now I can, everyday my kids and I do and hour of school work, followed by a craft activity. I know a lot of mom’s sit at home and want to do things to but can’t think of anything to do. Starting today you will have new ideas. I hope you enjoy my blog. So just bare with me and if you have ideas as well, please share your suggestions with me. Thanks
