Calendar

This year the boys have been interested in knowing the date and days of the week. So I decided to make a calendar for them. I made a table 6 down and 7 across (pick your Childs favorite color for the table) then laminate it so you can use it for 12 months. Then get Velcro buttons and stick them in each spot. Print out numbers 1-31 and laminate them as well. (I used packaging tape as a laminate for these) stick the matching Velcro button to the back of the numbers. Now give your child a piece of paper and ask them to draw a picture that has to do with that month and write the month at the top Tape the picture and chart on the wall. ** I also made holiday symbols to put in place of the numbers **

Hand print butterflies

This week was also the first day of spring. Every Year we make our spring butterfylies. I use white scrap booking paper ( Mason's hands are getting to big for regular paper) and bright craft paint(found at walmart). First I took a soup can and traced a circle for the head and then I made a V shape body. I Painted my boys hands in 6 different shades. After I made the hand print wings I took glitter glue and colored in the body and head. Then drew a mouth and eyes. IT"S SIMPLE and very colorful to hang in your kitchen for the spring :)
